Charm and character in a home - the presence of a touch of history

"Many of us look for charm and character in a home—qualities that seem ineffable at first mention, but can often be reduced to the presence of a touch of history, a little aesthetic reference to the past.

Federation-era houses refer to those built around 1901, the year of Australia's unification into a country from a set of states and territories.

The style, sturdy and traditional, draws from English Edwardian houses, which are distinguishable for their red brick exterior, long central corridors, and old-world detailing."
